Eliza’s Poem

now you feel the squeeze my child
inside and out, strong and wild

how unfair it must feel for you
to gain your power and lose it too

the fear of pain controls all men
they're shamed by those who let it in

but you who bring life to the world
understand as even little girls

the price of that most sacred role
is paid with an internal toll

your willingness to endure
ability to succour

it is the root of your might
tap it now, protect your right

break the shackles, shred the chains
before they tighten them again

tear down buildings, storm the walls
deliver your destiny, transition calls
